Earlier this week the 8th grade football team of BEMS traveled to Southport for the last game of the season. The Bulldogs came out on top finishing the season in the win column with a 30-12 victory over the Southport Cardinals. The game began with the Bulldogs on offense and on the first play from scrimmage running back Quentin Russ took it to the house on a 52 yard touchdown run followed by a successful two point conversion from running back Chance Crumedy. On the next defensive series linebacker Davin Pearson intercepted the Southport quarterback and ran it all the way to the endzone for a “pick-6”. On the ensuing two point conversion quarterback Joey Spagnuolo connected with tight end Mason Keifer pushing the Bulldog lead to 16-0. The rest of the game was a great display of teamwork and toughness from the entire Brownsburg squad. Big tackles on defense came from Jackson Sarjent, Parker Lambert, Owen Feitsch, Jackson Gipson, Justin Hamm, Alhasen Diallo, and many more including a fumble recovery from Chance Crumedy! Offensively the Bulldogs had big plays including a touchdown pass from quarterback Daniel Heidenreich to receiver Rycker Socks! Big gains on the ground came from running backs Brian Snipes and Tobin Peterson. The future looks bright for Brownsburg football. Congratulations on a great season and being conference champions!
