The 4-3 BEMS Bulldogs hit the field Thursday night wanting revenge for last years OT loss to ZWMS. The opening KO left us pinned deep in our own territory and we went 3 and out. We had ZWMS stopped on the next drive but an incomplete pass on 4th down was accompanied with a roughing the passing call that extended their drive and cost us 8 points. On our next drive Franklin Franco caught a first down ball from Brayden Dietz and Josiah White drew a pass interference call extending our drive that ultimately stalled in the red zone. Our defense then held strong and Carter Bogie almost intercepted a screen pass on 3rd down. His determination was very apparent as on the very next play he blocked a punt, scooped it up and rumbled to the end zone for a TD! Brayden Dietz hit JJ White in the Endzone for our 2pt conversion to tie up the score at 8-8 and led us to halftime. The second half ZMWS held the ball nearly the entire half. We stopped them on their first drive. We had one series on offense where AJ Maxie had two powerful runs, JJ White caught a pass from Brayden Dietz but ultimately we turned the ball over on downs. This set up a ZWMS drive that soaked up the entire clock and ended with a spectacular catch over 2 BEMS defenders making the score after we stopped their 2pt conversion, 14-8. With 23 seconds left we were pressed on time and had to drive the length of the field. We attempted a double pass that was intercepted dropping our overall record to 4-4 for the season. Harlan Millbern, Ty Thompson and Levi Prickett had to work overtime playing both sides of the ball and their efforts were noticed throughout the night. Our season finale will be at home on Wednesday night and we’d love to have a huge student body crowd here to support us in our final BEMS game of the season. Go Dogs!
