It was a beautiful night for football last night and your 8th Grade Bulldogs did not disappoint with a 30-14 Win over Avon South. The offense moved the ball at will with the only thing keeping points off the board for us on every drive was a few mistakes. Micah Billups & Brody Woodruff connected for a 20 yard TD strike to get us rolling and then we cooled off offensively until the second half. The defense however was cooking all night. Cade Smith had a forced fumble with Nico Clark recovering. Kentrell Gordon had forced fumble and Elijah Killion recovered for the Bulldogs. Reed Johnson had an interception and Brian Vaughn had a pick 6 getting points on the board for the defense. Imani Smith, Gavin Allen, Nico Clark and Levi Armstrong all had tackles for loses. Cortland Marcus had a KO fumble recovery giving a boost to the team from Special Teams & tough defensive play throughout the night. Brody Woodruff led the helm with 2 TD passes & a gritty TD run that Brooks Lewis cleared the way for with resilient blocking and 3 two point conversion passes. Reed Johnson had over 100 yards of total offense. Marky Virgil hit paydirt on a TD pass across the middle of the field. Souleyman Ouattara had a busy night with 3 two point conversion receptions from Brody Woodruff and 60 receiving yards. Your Bulldogs are at home again on Thursday night vs Zionsville Middle School and they’d love to hear some more noise from the Dog Pound so get your tickets & your popcorn ready!
