7th Softball Ties Zionsville In Opener

BEMS 7th Grade tied Zionsville Middle School 12-12 on Wednesday at Brownsburg East Middle School. Hayden Fryman led the way with four hits in five at-bats, including a triple. Zionsville jumped out early with three runs in the first, but BEMS answered in the second, scoring five runs—highlighted by Fryman’s three-RBI triple—to take a 6-3 lead. Zionsville battled back to tie the game in the sixth and took a 12-9 lead in the eighth. BEMS responded in the bottom of the inning, tying the game on hits from Brynna Troutman and Kendall Carrington along with a ground out by La’Zaria Barker. BEMS collected 15 hits, with Fryman and Carrington each recording four. The team also showed aggressiveness on the bases with nine stolen bases. Troutman pitched seven innings, striking out five.
