Brownsburg East Middle School

Brownsburg East 8th Grade Baseball dropped Game 2 to Zionsville West, 13–3, in what was simply one of those tough days on the diamond. Zionsville consistently found grass with their bats, while Brownsburg hit several balls right at defenders — including a couple of impressive diving catches by the Zionsville center fielder that took away potential hits. Zionsville capitalized in key moments, driving in seven runs with two outs. Brownsburg East did a solid job putting the ball in play, striking out only five times, but couldn’t string together the hits needed to build momentum. Offensively, Parker Mattingly led the way, going 2-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Nolan Ziegler added a hit and drove in two runs, finishing 1-for-2, while JT Tyson went 1-for-2 with a double. Brownsburg East looks to bounce back in their home opener on Monday, April 20.
