Strong start to the season for the Brownsburg East Bulldogs 8th grade baseball team, who opened with a 7–2 win over Zionsville Middle School. Offensively, the Bulldogs showed discipline and aggressiveness at the plate, tallying 6 hits, 8 walks, and 5 stolen bases. Reid Pledderer led the way with a perfect 2-for-2 performance, including a double and a triple. He added 2 RBIs, scored twice, and swiped 2 bases to pace the attack. Defensively, the Bulldogs were solid across the board. Byron Young got the start on the mound and was dominant, earning the win with 3 hitless innings while striking out 6. Brayden Dietz came in for relief and closed things out over 2 innings, allowing just 1 hit, no earned runs, and recording a strikeout. Behind the plate, Reid P. shut down the Zionsville running game throwing out 2 of 3 stolen base attempts. The Bulldogs look to keep the momentum going as they return to action Thursday, April 16 at Zionsville West Middle School at 5:30 PM.
